Air Source Heat Pumps: ECO Heat Pumps
Throughout the world, everyone from individual consumers to multinational corporations is looking for ways to become green. Green conscious consumers are finding new and improved ways to keep warm, save money, and to keep the earth in better shape. This has led to a push to find sustainable fuels. One way to do this is to switch from your gas or oil burning heaters to the air source heat pumps.
This piece of technology works by bringing in air from the exterior of a building, passing it through a series of compressors and coils, and taking the heat out of the air. This heat is then used to heat the building. On a mild day, it produces roughly three units of heat energy for every unit of electrical energy. Furthermore, on very warm days, up to four units of heat energy can be extracted. Since even cold air is actually well above absolute zero, there is always some heat energy that can be tapped. This creates a perfect dynamic that is far too rare: something good for business and for the environment! Air Source Heat Pumps are renewable energy systems that provide heating and hot water using free solar energy from the air. These products are split into 2 parts, the outdoor air handling unit that can be situated up to 30m away from the property and the heat pump and water tank that are typically located in a utility room. In addition, installing one of these air conditioning units means there is no need for a costly connection to the mains gas network and no unsightly oil tank or storage requirement for solid fuel.
