Installing patio slabs in your backyard makes your garden look neat and tidy. During monsoon season, the garden becomes a mess to such an extent that you cannot even imagine walking in it. The mud is murky with puddles all around. To get rid of such a situation it is better that you install patio slabs in your garden. Patio slabs are blocks which are coated with thick material over it.
What you need to consider while installing patio slabs all by yourself?
Ensure the surface on which you are going to install patio slab is free from weeds and debris. The ground should be even otherwise it will be very difficult to install patio slabs.
After this you need to measure as to how many patio slabs you will need to fit the space. So take a measuring tape and measure the length and the width of the area.
It is absolutely fine if you buy extra patio slabs because if you run short or a slab breaks, you will have to go hunting for new patio slabs.
Some people hire professional contractors to install patio slabs instead of installing it themselves. Installing it yourself can save you a lot of money; only thing is that you have to know how you need to install them.
Patio slabs are made from granite, concrete, limestone and sandstone. If you want a concrete patio slab then clear the garden surface from useless objects. While cleaning your garden, make sure you take care of the pipelines and holes otherwise they might get damaged while installing patio slabs.
Start spraying water on the area you are working if you do not want the concrete to dry fast. Even if you have mixed enough water with the concrete, spraying extra water will not hurt the concrete in fact it will make it very strong.
You will need a tool called a bull float which has a flat end to smoothen the concrete. Once the concrete is put on the ground, you will need a steel float to even out the concrete. Do not complete the entire process in haste because you want your patio design to be flawless. Many people waste money by hiring labourers and doing a landscape etc but you can do this job by yourself and save a lot of time and money. Construct the pathway or walkway slowly; take as much time as you want if you want perfection.
Remodelling your house does not mean you change the entire look of your house at once, but make minute changes. Installing patio slabs adds grandeur to your garden. It is an ideal renovation to your garden.
