Pearl beads: beauty
The pearl beads are manufacture by heavy machines. These products cannot be made by hand. They require heavy machinery. In this machinery fine and coarse materials are kept together with cement particles. Then under high vibration, the machine converts these into a mixture which is then set to different shapes and sizes. In situations where there is light traffic the thickness of the pavers should be at least 60mm, and in places where the traffic is very heavy the minimum thickness should be at least 80mm.
In some countries in the east like Pakistan, the standard thickness used for the footpaths are about 50mm. the benefit of these beads is that they can withstand tremendous amount of pressures. They can withstand pressure of more than seven thousand PSI. Hence these beads are preferred over the big concrete chunks and tiles. These beads not only provide rigidity but they also provide free flow hence being able to handle more pressure. The only problem that you may tend to come across whileusing these beads is that during the rainy season and bad weather you are bound to come across pot holes. For better performance the sand layer is compacted to a certain density.
